Summer Update: What I have done so far, my life, etc.
By Inaya Syed
Hi Everyone, it has been a while since I last wrote on the blog, so forgive me for being a little rusty.
Statics and other summer classes:
I would like to begin this post by saying that I did not pass statics from Stony Brook University. However, I enrolled in a statistics class at CUNY Queensborough Community College on July 8th, and I passed that class on August 8th! That credit is now taken care of, but statics I have to take in the Fall semester
Internships:
I had been rejected from the internship, but I am not giving up! In my pursuit of an internship, there is a fellowship hosted by Brookhaven National Labs. I applied, and am eagerly waiting for a response for Fall.
Trip to the Finger Lakes:
From August 1st to August 3rd, our family took a trip to the Finger Lakes, also known as Geneva, NY. I made the itinerary, found the places, and went there. The places we went were:
- Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion
- Seneca Lake
- Finger Lakes Rail Riders
- Ithaca Falls
- Seneca Falls
Each attraction had something to offer us with its views, its history, and its activities. Rail Riders was a fun experience, and I hope to do it again in the future.

Picnic with Family, Friends, and Family friends:
In July, we hosted a picnic with our family, friends, and family friends. It was such a great turnout, with nearly ten families attending. It was a great time for all of us, as everyone brought something to offer. My friend, Sana, even attended.

New York Botanical Garden:
In June, we went to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, NY, with our older sister. It was such a fun time, looking at certain plants and seeing the conservatory exhibit, Van Gogh's Flowers, as each flower had a rich history and had been included in the works of art.
Overview of summer adventures:
Overall, my summer has been great, and I hope to have many more great summers. As summer is leaving, I am hopeful for what Fall might bring. From classes to vacations, I loved this summer. Sure, it was brutal, but I am glad to have had a great summer. On to many more!
